Monday 12th February 2018 saw a start to the work with sections of Alder Road completely closed to traffic. We went to have a look and the road completely empty of traffic is a most unusual sight!
 
Alder Road between Herbert Avenue and Yarmouth Road will be closed until 5.30pm on Friday. During this time the junction of Alder Road with Playfields Drive will also be closed - with many cars not realising and having to turn around.

Alder Road is then due a southbound closure from Yarmouth Road to Ashley Road from 7am on Monday, February 19, to 5.30pm on Wednesday, February 28. This will also include the closure of the junctions of Gwynne Road and Recreation Road.

Plan your journey in plenty of time as the delays are lengthy if you get caught in them.
