Laura Tait, Area Retail Manager at Lewis-Manning, said, “At Lewis-Manning Hospice we raise lots of money from items kindly donated through our house clearance service. We understand that often house clearances can be an emotional experience and so our drivers treat our customers with care. We offer a range of services, ranging from free to £150. We also benefit when people kindly donate us items of good quality saleable furniture, so if you have items that you no longer need, please contact us.”

The charity provides free care and support services to over 700 people a year via their Day Hospice, Lymphoedema Clinic and Better Breathing Clinic, and this year will complete the final phase of the opening of its bedrooms to operate 24/7 and provide end of life care as well as respite and rehabilitation.

The hospice is also urging anyone who has any unwanted items, such as clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, games, books, DVDs, CDs, crockery, glassware and bakeware, to consider donating them to any of its seven hospice shops. 

Laura, added, “We would really welcome any unwanted gifts for our shops and also remind people that if they are a UK tax payer, please ask about Gift Aid when donating as this adds 25 per cent to the value of their donations and therefore can have a significant impact on the amount we can raise for the hospice.”
