This will include writing poetry for special occasions, leading workshops to encourage other writers, and reading their own poetry to audiences.
Councillor Lawrence Williams, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Leisure & Culture, said: “Bournemouth is full of culture and creativity and this new role is a great opportunity for someone who has a real love of poetry to raise its profile in the town. I wish all those that apply the very best of luck.”
The unique role is for three years from December 2013 to December 2016 with an honorarium of £1000 per year in addition to paid workshops.
