Opened this week, the new convenience store has extended to the rear of the property and is much larger than you might guess. It's open from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week and includes an in-store bakery, frozen goods, newspapers and plenty of lunch options. There is a free to use ATM, PayPoint and loads of parking in generous bays.

Alder Road is one of the busiest thoroughfares in the area and the store may be quicker stop than going in to Sainsbury's, but residents towards Parkstone also have a McColls at 163 Alder Road if they want to avoid an uphill walk back.

The new Southern Co-operative store is at 164 Alder Road and if you're not up for cooking there is always the McDonald's next door of course!
