Christmas Craft Market

Come and make a head start on your Christmas shopping this year with a wonderful selection of unique, handmade gifts. They have a variety of stalls selling handmade Christmas gifts, clothes, cakes and decorations.

Browse the wonderful selection of stalls whilst enjoying a slice of cake, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. The entrance fee of 50p per person will be donated to Different Strokes Dorset. Different Strokes Dorset is a registered charity providing a unique, free service to younger stroke survivors throughout the United Kingdom.

You Know It, You're A Poet!

Residents of Bournemouth who are passionate about poetry are being encouraged by The Mayor and Bournemouth Council to apply to be the first ever Poet Laureate for Bournemouth.

The successful Laureate will raise the profile of poetry across the Borough inspiring others to read and write poetry.

Getting About makes travel easier in Kinson

If you travel to Kinson you can expect easier and safer walking and cycling facilities thanks to Bournemouth Borough Council’s Getting About initiative.

New crossings, cycle lanes, shared footways, and improved lighting are a number of improvements that have recently been implemented in and around the Kinson area. 

Your chance to get involved in Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival – volunteers required 21st September – 12 October 2013

Three weeks of over 50 highly original and exciting arts activity are in store at Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival – and the organisers are looking for people to be part of this exciting festival between September 21th and October 12th 2013.  So if you fancy volunteering and being at the heart of the action, read on!

Wallisdown residents are being encouraged to think about how much food they throw out as national figures show the average family wastes £50 of food a month.

In Bournemouth a massive 38 per cent of all rubbish thrown in the Little Bin (refuse) is food and the Council’s Recycling Team is encouraging residents to think more about food waste to help reduce the amount and save money too. The Council is supporting the ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ campaign urging people to think about how they use shop, store and cook food items they buy.

Visiting Molly's Den

Molly's Den, set over 16000 square ft over 2 floors, is a new retail & trade warehouse where you will find all kinds of unique treasures you won’t find on the high street.

We loved the eclectic mix inside and could easily spend an afternoon rooting through to find a hidden gem. Inside is an impressive collection of retro furniture, vintage clothing, records, collectables, antiques and much more. There is everything from shabby chic to random Retro. Browse for gifts, jewellery, furniture have a bite to eat and a coffee in Molly's Kitchen.

There are also monthly outdoor fairs.

Meet The Lions

The Lions Club of Bournemouth cordially invite you to a “Meet the Lions” evening.

Come along from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on 18th April 2013 at Moordown Community Centre on Coronation Ave, Moordown BH9 1TW.

This is your chance to find out what Lions do and if you could take part. All funds raised are used to help others locally and throughout the world. The Lions Motto is “WE SERVE” Supporting Youth, the Elderly and those in need.  Your help would make a difference!
